1st DLSU International Conference on the Philosophy of Sport and Games: Theories and Practices of Sports and Games towards a Stronger Nation (PAP Mid-Year Conference)

November 16-17, 2017

The 1st DLSU International Conference on the Philosophy of Sport and Games is organized by the De La Salle University Philosophy Department, College of Liberal Arts,  in cooperation with the Philosophical Association of the Philippines (PAP) will take place in De La Salle University- Laguna Campus, Binan, Laguna, Philippines on November 16-17, 2017.
The conference, which is interdisciplinary in nature, aims to bring together philosophers, ethicists, academics, researchers, scientists, historians, artists, athletes, coaches, inventors, game players, health and wellness practitioners, policy makers, and students of all areas and aspects of sports and games.
Research on sport and games is developing in the discipline of philosophy.  Current ideas being explored include the analysis of cooperation and motivation in sports, the aesthetics and beauty of sport, sport and religion, roles of skills and coaching in sport, bioethical issues in sport, health and wellness, and fair play.  All these and many other concepts contribute to the core themes, approaches and theories of the field. Significantly, these build up the discussion and synthesize a framework for the philosophy of sport and games.

The theme of the 1st DLSU International Conference on the Philosophy of Sport and Games is Theories and Practices of Sports and Games towards a Stronger Nation.

Fee Structure*

Pre-registered participants:
DLSU Students**: Php 1,000
Other Students**: Php 2,500
Local Participants: Php 3,500
Foreign Participants: USD 100

Walk-ins***:
Local Walk-ins (2 days): Php4,000
Local Walk-ins (1 day only): Php2,000

*PAP Membership Fees are separate from the conference registration fees.
**Students must show proof of enrollment and must be enrolled in the current term.
***Participants who were not able to pre-register online.
